The Lyons New Media Centre is a natural expansion of what was the Lyons Instructional Media Centre. The Lyons New Media Centre was a space renovated on the fourth floor of Mills Memorial Library (2010) for the innovative use of new and traditional media in teaching, learning and research at McMaster.
Spaces include audio and video editing workstations, a group viewing/consultation room, viewing booths, video-gaming stations, and a classroom. There is also a Green Screen available for use, as well as cameras, tripods and studio lights. A help desk is available in the Centre providing assistance to all McMaster patrons.
The Centre also features a large video wall to showcase the media creation process, to highlight faculty and student research and work, and to display faculty and student media projects. The video wall may also be used for special media rich presentations.
